A Non Governmental Organisation, Titi Oluwadare and Associates, TOA, has urged its partners across Nigeria to uphold local content in all their dealings in order to make impact and promote growth in their community of operations.
The Global President of the Group, Dr Titi Oluwadare gave the mandate virtually at the 2026 Partners Summit held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
Oluwadare who harped on quality in project delivery noted that sourcing materials and contractors locally would not only breed harmony in the locality the project would be sited but brings about community growth and have other multiplier effects saying that such has being the standard of operation of the Group.
She also noted that every partner must have a physical presence and registered office in any State they are operating saying those were among the conditions to be partners of TOA even as she urged prospective partners to join the Group as there were more work to be done.
Her words, “Every partner needs to have a physical presence and a registered office in any state where they are going to have their project. Our partners must also use local contractors, and their contractors have to agree with TOA on ground.
“We believe that when we are creating jobs, creating opportunities, spending money within the state, it will help the state to develop. So these conditions apply in every state we are operating, so we ensure local content, community growth, and impact in those states.”
While announcing that TOA would by next year, launch smart city projects in Abuja, Lagos and Akwa Ibom, Dr Oluwadare applauded TOA Africa Representative, Dr Paul Dowells, TOA Advisor and immediate Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo as well as the former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Valerie Ebeh for their tenacity and commitments in promoting the activities of TOA in Akwa Ibom.
Giving an overview of the project, the African representative of the Group, Dr Dowells, in a separate interview said the group had earlier inaugurated project implementation committee and the event was aimed to invite all their partners in Southern Nigeria to declare their complementary projects
“We have a lot of projects and TOA cannot do all alone, so we have our partners who have the financial capacity to equally carry out any project we award them or we assign them, while we in turn guarantee them to go on with the project. So this summit was designed for such purpose.
He expressed satisfaction with the standard partners have maintained so far and encouraged them to use licenced indigenous contractors even as he noted that over 40 percent of the projects under construction would be completed before June that the global president is expected to visit Akwa Ibom State.
