Tinubu Praises Bishop Oyedepo on His 71st Birthday

President Bola Tinubu has sent warm congratulations to Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, on his 71st birthday. This public praise is different from the past government, which mostly ignored the well-known church leader during President Muhammadu Buhari’s time in office from 2015 to 2022.

In a statement shared by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu called Bishop Oyedepo “a great leader with strong influence in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond.” He spoke about Oyedepo’s important work in religion, education, and helping people in need.

The President praised Bishop Oyedepo’s strong dedication and hard work since he started the ministry in 1982. He said these qualities helped Living Faith Church grow into a global organization with branches in many countries. Tinubu also noted Oyedepo’s big investments in building projects, healthcare, and schools, which have helped many communities in Nigeria and other places.

Education is one of Bishop Oyedepo’s most lasting achievements, the President said. He praised schools like Kingdom Heritage Schools, Faith Academy, and the universities Covenant and Landmark. Tinubu said these schools “keep improving education and compete well with schools around the world,” giving students good chances to succeed.

“You have built one of Africa’s most important Christian ministries from very small beginnings,” President Tinubu said. “Your strong faith and work have inspired many other ministries that now help important parts of the economy.” He also recognized that Oyedepo’s ministry affects many areas, including business, health, and community development.

The President thanked Bishop Oyedepo for his work in helping to build the nation through preaching, teaching, and serving others. He called him “a role model and a true leader that many people look up to.” Tinubu prayed for Oyedepo to have good health, a long life, and wisdom to keep helping people and families with his faith.

Bishop David Oyedepo started Living Faith Church Worldwide in 1981. The church’s main center, Faith Tabernacle, is at Canaanland in Ota, Ogun State. Over the years, he has become one of Nigeria’s most well-known and respected Christian leaders, famous for his preaching and work in education and community service.
