President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Ibrahim Ida as Chairman of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and nominated seven individuals as Federal Commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by the presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.
Dr. Ida, a former lawmaker and experienced administrator, holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Ibadan and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Abuja.
He previously served as Commissioner for Finance in Katsina State and later as a Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service before representing Katsina Central in the Senate.
In a related development, President Tinubu nominated seven individuals to fill vacant positions in the National Population Commission. Those nominated are Kolawole Oladipupo Alabi (Ekiti), Nasiru Mu’azu (Zamfara), Usman Abubakar Tuggar (Bauchi), Dr. Isaka Alada Yahaya (Kwara), Professor Sadiq Isah Radda (Katsina), Suleiman Umar (Jigawa), and Hon. Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo (Sokoto).
The nominations have been forwarded to the National Assembly for confirmation.
The president also approved the appointment of Dr. Yusuf Mohammed as Chairman of the Federal Polytechnic Kaltungo in Gombe State.
Additionally, Bala Mohammed Bello has been confirmed as Special Adviser to the President on Political Economy. Bello, an economist with extensive experience in financial governance, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University.
He previously served as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and as Executive Director at the Nigerian Export-Import Bank between 2017 and 2022.
According to the presidency, the appointments are part of ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen key institutions and promote policies aimed at economic stability and national development.
