The Abia state chairman of the People’s democratic party (PDP) has said that the current leadership of its party in the state is a paradigm shift from the old ways things were done to new ways.
According to the Abia PDP boss, party faithfuls are giving equal opportunity and sense of responsibility, with a mission to recover every lost electoral seat in the state and retain the existing ones”.
The Chairman made the statement in his office at the state headquarters of the party ,in Umuahia, when the executive members of the body of Advsers, led by Mr Collins Nwakanma, paid him a familiarization visit.
In his introductory speech the chairman of the body and the special Adviser to the Governor on water resources Hon. Collins Nwakanma informed the Chairman that the body was in his office to pay him a courtesy visit and also inform him of their reinstatement as Advisers of the Governor courtesy of the magnanimity of the Executive Governor and the leader of the party Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu. He further explained that as Special Advisers to the Governor they are custodians of the party’s policies and programs and are poised to advance the duties and aspirations of the party at all fronts whenever duty calls. He reinstated the loyalty of the body to the party hierarchy and of course to the leader of the party Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
In his response Rt. Hon. Chief Asiforo Okere PhD, thanked the body for finding time to visit the party headquarters which he refered to as ” their home”, reminding them that the party belongs to “all of us” as such, all hands must be on deck to ensure that the party excel in her endeavours. Pointing that selflessness and sacrifice is key to the growth of the party hence he enjoined all to always keep touch with their political wards and ensure they are in sync with their people at the grassroot.Recalling his days as Local Government chaiman , House member, Commissioner and Special Adviser, Asiforo maintained that the life of a good politician is replete with love and sacrifice to her people admonishing them to bequeath a lasting legacy that they will be remembered for .
In his vote of thanks the Secretary of the body and Special Adviser on Boundary matters Chief Mascot Obike thanked ” the capacity chairman ” for his robust and result oriented leadership and reiterated the avowed loyalty of the body to the leadership of the party.
Also present at the meeting was the Secretary of the Party Bar. David Iro, the Financial Secretary Chief Chinyere Onuoha and the Woman leader Chief Mrs Christy Emenike as well as other executive members of the body of Advsers to the Governor of Abia State .
