Dr Alex Otti, the defeated 2015 governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and who recently declared his intention to run for the 2019 gubernatorial election in Abia State is going to witness another heartbreaking defeat come next year. The political future of Alex Otti has been ruined due to his desperate move to take the mandate of Abians by force. His 2015 campaign was based on the infrastructural decay in the state; the rate of dilapidated road network we had under the then government of the State. He even also boasted to have already secured a #100b loan to develop Aba and turn it to heaven on earth. All his campaign promises, even now are rooted in cheap lies and deceit. This is evident in his denial of his identity simply to score cheap political goals. This indeed is an act cowardice.
The roads in Aba, the ancient city and the commercial hub of the state used to be a case study for him and his uninformed minions. Right now, they are bereft of ideas and strategy for their propaganda because the present administration under Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu has changed the narrative of Abia State with his catapillar revolution and transformation agenda across the state.
Dr. Alex Otti and his uninformed minions have refused to answer pertinent questions asked by Abians. His true involvement in managing the FAAC Account of Abia State Government from 2002 to 2015 and his complicity in all the kinds of frivolous loans that set the state backward. His role in the mismanagement of the state’s pension Account between 2002 to 2007 where he managed the account and earned promotion at the bank he worked while Abia pensioners were shortchanged and have continued to suffer the consequences of the mismanagement till date. Why he (Dr. Alex Otti) petitioned Federal Ministry of Finance and the Senate to stop Abia State from accessing the $200m facility from World Bank like other states who have used theirs to develop their states. This shows a man of questionable character, a man who enjoys the suffering of his people, a man who does not have the interest of his people at heart and above all, a man who is greatly interested and preoccupied with his selfish interest. Little wonder he was rejected by his own kinsmen (Arochukwu). Come 2019, Alex Otti will yet receive a shock of his life because the road to political victory can no longer be built on propaganda.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s endorsement and acceptance across the state shows that he has raised the bar in quality and delivery of good governance to the people. His achievements can be felt, even seen spread across the three senatorial zones of the state. The state is not experiencing any epileptic governance, the governor is working his talks. For instance, the quality and innovation in road construction across the state through the introduction of the rigid pavement technology also known as cement technology into the lexicon of road construction in Abia is a positive change in the economic activities of the state and a sure way to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the state.
Secondly, Gov. Ikpeazu’s endorsement for a second term in office from critical stakeholders and all sectors in the state, is not only based on spirit of equity and fairness, but on his superlative performance as governor within less than four years in office amidst all distraction and unwarranted litigations. Gov. Ikpeazu has provided adequate infrastructure to stabilized both macro and micro economic activities and social development. More so, investing in infrastructure constitutes one of the main mechanism to increase income, employment, productive and consequently the competitiveness of an economy.
Furthermore, Dr. Alex Otti has failed to live up to expectation by giving back to the community that molded him. Rather, he concocted cheap lies against a performing governor who is on the speed lane to recover the state and put it in the limelight. Alex Otti has not attracted or executed a single project in his constituency not to talk of the state.The 30% complete project he claim to have brought and hurridibly commission was a mockery. He can be seen only in the state during election or on an invitation to visit the dead. Even with the wealth he has accumulated, he has been unable to meaningfully impact the lives of the masses. That’s the man called Alex Otti who has no political power to win an election in the state, be it councillorship.
Finally, Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s gaint strides in agriculture, trade and commerce, health, education, security and infrastructure speak volume and would definitely lead to his safe return to Abia State Government House as the Chief Servant. The governor has shown himself to be an exemplary leader worthy of emulation. He has shown a high level of transparency in discharging his duties and in extensively and efficiently ensuring the infrastructural transformation of God’s Own State. The glaring result of his effort in ensuring that Abia state economy functions effectively is a great testimony. Abians are now wiser and stronger, their Permanent Voters Card(PVC) will yet speak for them again come 2019.
