When we tell the world how proud and lucky we are to have this kind of woman as the wife of our Oga, people don’t understand.
There is something that power does to people and believe it or not, the personality and temperament of the Madam of the House affects everything.
But this woman is different. Completely different!
Since 2015 when her husband became Governor till date, she has remained herself…unassuming, cheerful, warm, humble and accessible.
Bred in the finest Adventist traditions and with no airs whatsoever around her, a first time visitor to the Governor’s Lodge or their home in Umuobiakwa will not believe that this woman who comes out smiling and takes time to greet everyone and then ask if we have eaten is actually the First Lady of the State.
Her husband’s staff feel relaxed when she is around and she goes out of her way to calm the environment with her exceptional charm and grace.
She does this with ease because it’s her default state and she doesn’t need to struggle with that. Her simplicity is infectious and mind blowing.
For people like us who love home food, we are the luckiest. Once she sights me, after asking about Lolo Ururuaja and the kids, the next question is to ask me if I have eaten. Of course, a well prepared ukazi soup will follow, with some good swallow.
“Akpu adidigh obena wo. Iga iri oatmeal”. She always adds.
The incident that happened today in Awka can never, ever happen here. It’s simply impossible. Not with Nkechi Ikpeazu!
When we say that Ikpeazu is calm and calculated, look no further for the reason for that calmness.
Iron sharpeneth iron.
So says the Holy Book!
May God bless us with calm and graceful wives, Amen!
