Perhaps the knowledge of a secured qualification affected the team as they were shadows of themselves. Despite securing a draw, it was one of the worst performance of the Super Eagles in recent times.

Mohamed Tijani opened scoring for the Gernot Rohr’s coached side and they would have been three goals up if not for their profligacy. Thinking that they three points and a ticket to Morocco was already secured, they Squirrels started time wasting and feigning injuries.

But Osimhen’s goal turned the table, opening the doors of qualification to all the other three teams in the group.
