Stop quarrelling and fighting, support God’s work – Okoh tells members, as he dedicates new church building

 

The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, The Most Revd Nicholas Okoh, has charged members of the Anglican Communion to stop fighting and quarrelling in the church and support the church as well as its leaders for the work of God to progress.

The Primate who made this known to newsmen during the dedication of St. Stephen’s Cathedral Umuahia, said members of the church should stop any rift they have among themselves and give their support so that the work of God can progress.

Okoh while commending the church for putting up such an edifice for the worship of God, said the completion of the church building has set the stage for another step to be taken in the church,which is the building of the people of God.

Speaking on the security challenges confronting the nation, the Primate stated that Nigerian leaders should ensure the safety of Nigerians by curbing the incessant blood shed across the nation.

However, the Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Archbishop Ikechi Nwosu, rendered praise and thanksgiving to God for the successful completion of the church building that started ten years ago, stating that even though the building of the church was a struggle owing to the dwindling state of the nation’s economy, appreciated God that the project was built and completed in his time.

Meanwhile, the Cathedral Administrator, Ven. Gerald Nwabuisi while revealing how the project was realized, gave glory to God for being the source behind the completion of the church, adding that over #250million was needed for the finishing of the church, but how the money was realized can not be explained by anyone.

Ven Nwabuisi said what spurred him to pursue the completion of the project was because of the send-off ceremony of Archb Nwosu who has retired and the enthronement of his successor.

He further advised christians who do not see the investment in God’s House as paramount to desist from such thought, as there are blessings that abound when one support God’s work.
