State Government Kicks Off Activities Marking The 2023 Abia Day Celebration.

Activities marking the 32nd anniversary of the state with the team “Abia Hitting The Reset Button” has commenced with press briefing by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu and the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu.

Speaking at the press briefing held at the Conference Room of the office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu, called on Abians to cue into the vision of the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti to reset and rebuild Abia of our dream.

Prof Kalu while unveiling the activities marking this year’s Abia Anniversary disclosed that on Wednesday and Thursday, the First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Otti will visit the less privileged and orphanage homes across the three senatorial zones of the state.

The Chief Scribe pointed out that on Friday, there will be jumat prayers and novelty match between the Executives and members of the state House of Assembly.

According to the SSG, a special anniversary Environmental Exercise, Compressive medical outreaches across the three senatorial zones in the state and a musical concert will be held on Saturday while on Sunday, August 27th, there will be a State Broadcast by the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, followed by an Inter-Denominational church service to be conducted by Dominion City, Okpara Square, Umuahia.

The SSG added that there will be a special Executive Council Meeting on Monday next week while the grand finale of the event takes place on Tuesday,29th August, with an anniversary lecture by Dr. Oby Ezekwesiri as well as unveiling of a new Abia Orientation Agency at International Conference Centre, Umuahia.

Contributing, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu, who said that the present administration is set out to do things differently, to positively touch people’s lives urged all to support the Government to achieve its set goals for the good of all.
