The Secretary to the Abia State Government (SSG), Professor Kenneth Kalu, has said that the present administration is fully committed to building a peaceful and conducive environment where every citizen can thrive.
He stated this while receiving participants of Course 34 of the National Defence College (NDC), Abuja, who paid him a courtesy visit as part of their geo-strategic study tour of the state. Prof. Kalu emphasized that security remains a top priority for the administration of Governor Alex Otti.

According to him, the government understands the critical role security plays in overall development and has continued to invest heavily in strengthening the state’s security architecture to ensure Abia remains safe for residents, investors, and visitors.
The SSG urged the participants to approach their study tour with objectivity, adding that innovation and creativity are essential tools for progress in national development.

He described the visit as “a step in the right direction,” noting that its objectives align with the mission and development agenda of the present administration.
Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Commander MacDonald Uba (rtd.), thanked the delegation for the visit and assured them of the government’s support to ensure the success of their study.

In his remarks, the leader of the delegation and Director, National and Military Strategy at the NDC, Air Commodore Immanuel Nansoh, explained that the college, established in 1992, has trained over 2,000 participants. He said the visit to Abia is aimed at conducting a national study tour that will enable the team to make recommendations capable of enhancing national security and sustainable development.
The visit featured the presentation of souvenirs to the SSG, a question-and-answer session, and had in attendance heads of bureaus in the Office of the SSG.
