SSG Kenneth Kalu Applauds Abam Women as Pillars of Peace, Growth, and Development

 

The Secretary to the Abia State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu, has hailed the invaluable contributions of women to peace, stability, and development, describing them as critical agents of societal transformation.

Prof. Kalu gave the commendation at the 2025 First General Congress of Inyom Abam Onyerubi Development Union (Home and Abroad), held at Atan Abam, Arochukwu Local Government Area, with the theme “Home Coming.”

In his address, the SSG emphasized that women form the bedrock of any thriving society, beginning with their roles in the family as primary role models. He praised the unity among Abam women and commended the Local Organizing Committee for the successful hosting of the congress, expressing confidence that the gathering would foster meaningful dialogue and initiatives that strengthen peace and community growth.

Prof. Kalu also urged continued support for Governor Alex Otti’s administration, which he said is committed to repositioning Abia State for excellence.

In her welcome address, the President General of Inyom Abam Onyerubi Forum, Lady Nne Oriona Ukeh, described the congress as a unifying homecoming, celebrating Abam’s rich heritage, the resilience of its women, and reinforcing unity across the clan.

Delivering goodwill messages, the Majority Leader of the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Okoro Uchenna, and the General Manager of Abia Newspapers Corporation, Chief Jones Nnanna Ike, lauded the historic achievements of Abam women and pledged their support towards the realization of the group’s goals.

The event featured cultural displays, lectures, community-focused discussions, and a renewed commitment to unity and development in Abam land.
