SSG Applauds NIMC for Outstanding Performance in Abia State

 

The Secretary to the Abia State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, has commended the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) for its commendable work in the state.

Professor Kalu gave the commendation while receiving the State Coordinator of NIMC, Mr. Ukpabi Eni, and his team during a courtesy visit to his office in Umuahia. He emphasized that identity management is a critical tool for effective planning, service delivery, and governance.

He noted that the present administration, led by Governor Alex Otti, is committed to initiatives that contribute to building a better and more inclusive society. He cited the establishment of the Abia Leadership Academy as part of the government’s efforts to empower young Abians and make them self-reliant.

The SSG urged the NIMC team to prioritize efficiency and credibility in carrying out their duties, stressing that effective identity management plays a pivotal role in national development.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr. Ukpabi Eni stated that their visit was in line with the directive from NIMC’s national headquarters to engage major stakeholders across the country. He expressed appreciation for the collaboration between the Commission and the Abia State Government, describing it as effective and impactful.

In a vote of thanks, a member of the delegation, Mr. Moses Ejiogu, thanked the SSG for the warm reception and pledged the Commission’s continued partnership and support to the state government.
