Special Security Committee For Umunneochi: Indication Of Gov Ikpeazu’s Seriousness With Security Issues – Chikamnayo

Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo has described the inauguration of a Special Security Committee for Umunneochi as an indication that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is very serious and proactive in his approach to security issues in the State.

Dr. Chikamnayo, who stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly after the inauguration, maintained that what the Governor has done was to ensure that the people of Umunneochi take ownership of the security apparatus and as well take charge of the security architecture of the Local Government with the collaboration of other existing security agencies.

The Commissioner, who also doubles as the Secretary of the Special Security Committee for Umunneochi said the Governor with the Committee has kicked-off what will become the solution to insecurity situation not only of Umunneochi but all other flash points in Abia State. He described it as a welcome development that shows proactiveness, innovation and seriousness on the part of the Governor in ensuring that the people of the State are not only secured but their welfare are not compromised as a result of incessant cases of abduction.

He said the Committee being an all inclusive one that comprises the youths, women, traditional rulers, town union leaders among others, was an indication that the government now has a very reliable body within to work with on all aspects of security and that the security agencies have partners in progress in that regard.

Abia information boss assured that the Committee would not take the work for granted because lives and property of people are involved.
