Soldiers invasion of Abia NUJ secretariat condemned, as Operation Python Dance continue

The Nigeria Army led operation “python dance” in the South East part of the Country keep worsening the situation of the people especially those in Abia State with banks and other businesses almost closing for fear of the unknown.

As of the time of filing in this report National Ambassador gathered that soldiers involved in the operation has gunned down 2 defenseless IPOB members in front not too far from Abia State Government House, Umuahia.
Another IPOB member was also shot at the popular “Isigate” an epicenter of activities in Umuahia with a stray bullet hitting a tricycle (KEKE) operator and their bodies seized by the military.
Meanwhile, a human right lawyer Barr. Anthony Agbazuere in umuahia, has called on the federal government  to as a matter of urgency withdraw the soldiers deployed to Abia state in the name of operation python dance and allow peace to reign in the south east.

In a statement titled modus operandi of “operation python dance” of the Nigerian army to the state needs to be reviewed, because it is anti people and not conciliatory.

The statement further noted that the situation in the state does not warrant deployment of soldiers adding that if the IPOB leader has found to have violated his bail conditions soldiers have no business in the matter since the matter was still in court.

He condemned the desecration of  the NUJ secretariat by the soldiers where the working equipments of press men were destroyed and some journalists manhandled.
He urged the authorities  of the Nigerian army to fish out the culprits and punish them or be faced with court action.
