SMEs Development: UCCIMA rates Gov. Otti high.

 

To further enhance trade, agriculture and commerce and the tourism fortunes of Abia State, Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, UCCIMA has advised the government to create a wider vent for investors, and give them all the support needed including tax holidays.

In a press release made available to newsmen, the President of UCCIMA Chief Chidi Nkem Aruoma, the Chamber stated that granting tax holidays to global investors willing to invest in the state, will cause other investors, to see Abia as an investment destination of choice and also promote investment and rooster economic growth and development of the state.

Aruoma also called on Abians living in diaspora and foreign countries to invest homewards, embracing the concept of “Investing in Abia agenda and bringing manufacturing back to Abia”, for the transformation of the major cities of the State and which will also reach communities in every corner of Abia.

Moreover, he lauded Governor Alex Otti, for making conscious and deliberate efforts to improve the ease of doing business in the state

Aruoma who maintained that the overall target of any progressive and development oriented government should be centered on how to make its State a leading state with the ease of doing business, commended the vision of the governor which he observed was to gainfully engage the people and reduce hardship, hunger and insecurity to the barest minimum.

He also commended Gov. Otti’s administration for doing everything necessary to ensure that the state retains its lead as the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) hub of Nigeria.
