Sickle Cell Does Not Kill says Vicar Hope

The head of administration vicar hope foundation, Mr. Nwosu Chinedu has called for proper management of sickle cell patients, adding that sickle cell anaemia does not kill.
Nwosu who stated that in umuahia during an interaction with reporters, maintained that eating healthy foods, staying hydrated to avoid clotting, blood transfusion when necessary among others , helps maintain a sickle Cell patient. Mr nwosu insisted that a carrier of this blood disorder can also live a normal life.
He advised youths and intending couples to check their genotype to avoid raising children with sickle cell anaemia. He explained that an AA and AA is a good match, AA and AS is also good match while AS and AS is a bad match as well as SS and SS.
Nwosu further commended the wife of Abia state Governor, deaconess Nkechi Carol Ikpeazu for giving hope and care to the hopeless through vicar hope foundation. In his words “vicar hope foundation is committed to eradicating sickle cell anaemia in Abia state.
” The goodnews which vicar hope spread to the society concerning sickle cell anaemia is that they have strategized in ways and decided to sensitize the populace, the only solution to this disorder is bone marrow transplant which is not obtainable in Nigeria”. He highlighted.
