‘Shun cultism and face your studies’, Lawmaker tells constituents

Students have been urged to shun cultism and other social vices therein and take their studies seriously with a view to becoming great leaders.

 

Member representing Aba Central State Constituency, Hon. Abraham Obah, who gave the advice while receiving his constituents from University of Uyo, who called on him at the Abia State House of Assembly complex, described youths as future leaders that must be guarded with care.
Hon. Obah further urged them to refrain from negative activities capable of undermining their academic pursuits and future adding that they could become public servants or career personalities in different fields of endeavors.
Earlier, the leader of the students and the Assistant Secretary General of the Students Union Government, University of Uyo, Comrade Joy Chidiebere said they came to identify with Hon. Obah as their representative in the State House of Assembly and to congratulate him on his victory at the 2019 general elections.
She appealed to the legislator to provide scholarship support to the indigent ones among them who are skilled in business and craft work to enable them develop their talents while studying as well.
Highpoint on the visit was presentation of Award of Excellence in Leadership and proposal of scholarship scheme to the lawmaker.
