Former senior special assistant to ex-President Jonathan on public affairs, Doyin Okupe, has taken an exception to the decision of the presidency to announce the assistance rendered to Alex Ekwueme.
President Muhammadu Buhari had on Friday approved immediate overseas treatment for the ailing former number two citizen.
In a statement, Garba Shehu, senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, said Buhari offered to help after receiving a brief on the medical condition of the former vice-president.
Shehu had explained that the approval given by Buhari would cover the cost of chartering an air ambulance for the journey and the cost of his treatment.
But Okupe said there was no need for such “propaganda”.
“The press release on the evacuation of chief Ekwueme by FG is unnecessary, indecorus& unprofessional. there ar limits 2 propaganda,” he wrote on Twitter.
