Senate Minority Whip, Onwusibe, Others Rained Encomium on Hon. Chinasa

The Senator representing Abia Central District in the senate, who doubles as the Whip, Senator Darlington Nwokocha has described Hon. Anthony Chinasa , the member representing Umuahia Central State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly as the people’s choice who started well.

 

Nwokocha represented by Hon. Ginger Onwusibe , the member for Isialangwa North and South Federal Constituency in the Green Chambers while speaking at Ohobo Civic hall, during a special inaugural interactive Town Hall meeting of Umuahia Central General Assembly with the representative of the constituency maintained that the lawmaker is poised to give the people quality representation.

 

Continuing, Onwusibe who came on a dual capacity disclosed that the primary work of a legislator is lawmaking, representation and oversight.

 

He used the medium to remind his colleague at the state level that the governor can not do every thing rather, he (Chinasa) can also assist Alex Otti to provide some of the pressing needs of the constituents.

 

He maintained that the lawmaker can further attract government presence through the formulation of good policies that will touch the lives of the constituents.

 

The federal lawmaker who inaugurated the Chancellors of the Council of the General Assembly
advised Abians to support the present government in Abia state, expressing confidence in the ability of Alex Otti , the governor who according to him, is the right man for the desired change.

Onwusibe took the advantage of the event to congratulate Ott on his recent victory at the post election tribunal sitting in Umuahia in which he defeated Okey Ahiwe of the PDP and chief Ikechi Emenike of APC.

 

In his response, the man of the day, Hon. Chinasa said he came for representation in response to the clarion call by the people.

 

He stated that the constituents need representation with impact and he was selected above others through the ballot.

 

The legislator reaffirmed that the show of love and trust by the residents of Umuahia central, is some thing that he will not toy with.

 

According to the labour party member, the essence of the interactive meeting is to spot areas of urgency and attention, as well as doing some thing differently all geared towards improved representation.

 

The Abia lawmaker revealed that he is not a spirit being to know all things but reassured that with the inauguration of the chancellors and frequent town hall meeting, every matter of urgent attention would be looked into believing that as time progresses, other benefits of quality representation would be recorded.

Responding on the governor’s litigation, Hon. Chinasa described it as failed project knowing that Abians massively voted for Otti.

 

Contributing, the chairman of the occasion, Barrister Goodwin Chionye applauded the representative at the State Hallowed Chambers for His style of representation.

 

The legal luminary encouraged the politician to keep the good work in the business of representation and legislation.

 

Chionye hinted that to have decent society is every body’s business as he warmed the people to expose constituents with questionable and objectionable characters.

 

He continued by adding that we can only sanitize the society when the home is sanitized pointing that, every body is from a home

He charged them to take security of lives and properties serious as government alone can not do it.

 

The learned gentle man counselled that while the government does its part in providing good governance, the people should also complement the efforts of the government by being good citizens and law abiding.

 

He expressed dissatisfaction with some Abia politicians who made their money through the state politics but invested them in Abuja and other mega cities.

 

In his wisdom, chionye noted that if Abians invest in the state, it will have new look as well attract investors hammering that government will not comprehensively develop the state without individuals contributions.

In their responses, elder Emeka Ofor, Nnamdi Abaha, Victor Mbaiwe , Arthur Nwachukwu, Yusuf Musa representing Hausa community, Kasim Abiola representing Yoruba community among other participants enumerated their challenges to range from insecurity, road dilapidation, erosion menace, electricity, education, youth empowerment, health facilities, widows/widowers welfare, and criminal activities at isigate by hoodlums.

 

They called on the government via their representative for rapid intervention.

 

The town hall meeting of the general assembly in which Mike Mbiwe, Prosper Ihejirika, Victor Mbadiwe, Ikenna Ndubuka were inaugurated to pilot its affairs, had in attendance Hon. Uche Grace Agwugwuegbu_ former member that represented Umuahia Central, traditional rulers, clergy and other dignitaries.
