Security: PDP Chieftain Decries Rate Of Kidnapping Along ABSU/Isukwuato Road

A Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Emma Nwaka has raised alarm over the rate of kidnapping along the Abia State University Uturu/Isuikwuato road despite four security check points on the short stretch.

The former Abia state PDP Chairman who spoke in an interview with National Ambassador, described the rate of kidnapping along the area as outrageous.

He said: “What is becoming obvious is that the criminals are always a step ahead of the security agencies. They know there is no coordination of efforts among security agencies in the area and knowing that they are stationary, the criminals choose a location away from where they are to carry out their nefarious activities”.

According to Sen. Nwaka, the way out of the deplorable situation is to adopt a stop and search tactics in which the security agents will be constantly on the move and maintain effective communication as well as intelligence sharing.

Nwaka advised the various security agencies in the area to devise a means of contacting each other in a timely manner, possibly through walkie talkie, to mobilise assistance or resort to using unmarked vehicles to track down the hoodlums.
