Security Expert Emphasizes Hiring Certified Companies for Security Guards After Tragic Incident in Port Harcourt

A security expert Aliyu Tanimu says hiring a security guard requires the service of a certified security company, not neighbors and relatives. Mr. Tanimu retired DSS personnel said this in an interview while reacting to the killing of a woman by her former security guard in Port Harcourt. He said employers exposed themselves to risk by engaging the services of security guards through recommendations from relatives and friends instead of a security company.

The retired DSS security personnel Aliyu Tanimu further explained that most people will not want to go to a security company to hire a security guard because the pay may be high and they will likely go to do a kind of private arrangement. Mr. Tanimu also said that the risk will be shared if you go through an established registered private company. Adding that if something happens, the first person you would hold is the security company because according to their act, they will share part of the responsibility.

However, the security expert Mr. Tanimu said that the certified security company also serves as a guarantor in case of any criminal offense. He explained that every security personnel from a country is expected to have bated and the security company that is giving out a person is supposed to stand as a guarantor to the verge for the integrity of the person they are giving out. And the security company, asks the people they want to recruit to bring their guarantors before they are recruited so that when issues arise, they will go through the chain, and bring their guarantors to the picture before even the prosecution.
