The Rivers State House of Assembly on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 screened five commissioner nominees sent to it by the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara and were subsequently confirmed as members of the Rivers State Executive Council.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oko-Jumbo read the correspondence of the governor requesting the screening of the five commissioner nominees on the floor of the house.
He later announced their confirmation as Commissioners after screening at the Hallowed Chambers of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Auditorium, Administration Block, Government House, Port Harcourt.
Those screened and confirmed are, Mr Ilamu Arugu, Dr Roland Obed White, Hon Dr Samuel Anya, Hon Samuel Eyiba and Sir Austin Nnadozie.
Also the bill for a law for the Establishment of Rivers State Technical and Vocational Training Institute and other matters thereto passed the second reading as considered by the Assembly.
