Rivers Women Commiserate With Lady Fubara Over Mother’s Demise

Women from the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State under the auspices of Rivers Women Unite for SIM on Tuesday commiserated with the wife of the Rivers State Governor, Lady Valerie Fubara over the demise of her mother late Mrs Adeline Jaja who passed on at the age of 87.

The women who were led by the Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Prof. Ngozi Odu on the condolence visit at the Banquet Hall Government House, Port Harcourt, expressed their heartfelt sympathy to the Rivers first family over the great loss.

Speaking at the event, Prof. Odu described the late matriarch as a great mother who served humanity selflessly and diligently.

“We’ve gathered here to express our sympathy over the loss of your mother. We want you to know how much we love you and appreciate you.”

“This is a clear representation of women from all the LGAs who have come to condole you over the loss of this wonderful mother. She was an upright, dedicated police officer who made us proud. She was diligent and committed in her work, and her diligence is transferred to you.”

“Mama is irreplaceable, but we’ll be there for you, and continue to demonstrate our commitment to you and the Governor, your husband”.

In her remark, Lady Fubara thanked the group for their concern and show of love and urged them to remain united.

” I thank you specially for making out time to show your love towards me, towards the state. I’m happy that you people are united. I’m happy that where my mother is, there’s nothing like pain, her desire is that under the watch of my husband, Rivers State will be peaceful.”

Highlights of the event was special prayers for the bereaved family.
