Official of the Rivers State Ministry Of Transport Emmanuel Ikuru says the state government is currently upgrading it’s vehicle inspection procedures, with the introduction of computerised vehicles inspection centres.
Mr Ikuru who is the chief vehicle inspection officer of the ministry said the computerised centres which is yet to be commissioned will be known as vehicles inspection plazas, and you will see cars, heavy trucks and vehicles drive in and have their vehicles diagnosed for fault in less than 10minute.
” Right now, if you watch, you don’t see too much of our staff on the road again, because we are upgrading to the international accepted standard. And the government has successfully built computerised vehicles inspection centre.
“We call them vehicle inspection plazas, where vehicles could just drive in and within the next 10minute, it will be checked, and every fault on that vehicle could be diagnosed and then a report given to the owner of the vehicle”.
These are all geared towards ensuring that safer vehicles move on our road”he stated.
