Rivers State: Beneficiaries Laud Homeland Initiative And Synergy Medicare’s Health Insurance Scheme

Beneficiaries of the homeland awareness and sensitization initiative in collaboration with Synergy Medicare HMO have spoken up in appreciation of a private investigation and evaluation exercise of its annual health insurance scheme in Rivers state.

Homeland awareness and sensitization initiative in collaboration with Synergy Medicare HMO has organized a thirty-day private investigation and evaluation exercise for over two hundred and thirty beneficiaries of its annual health insurance scheme.

According to the leader of the team Chitoro Chukwu while speaking at the end of the program said preventive health care insurance remains the best way to achieve effective, comprehensive, and holistic health care.

Miss Chukwu called on the government, politicians, and philanthropists in the state to do more health insurance with HMO companies for more reliable and holistic medical care to the people of Rivers State than this medical jamboree of one-off medical care.

The director of Synergy Medicare HMO while appreciating philanthropist Dumolulu Briggs for sponsoring comprehensive medical insurance for the beneficiaries in appealing for more in next year’s health insurance scheme also stated that they are using their multi-facet approach to the issues of the flood.

Further narrating that they also hope that the federal government will also synergize with the state government to ensure that people can live their normal lives, saying primary healthcare in this state is not only for women and children, it is for the elderly; it is for the youths, it is for everybody.

Continuing, he said that the community has to take ownership of the primary health centers and ensure that these health centers that have been built by the governments are well-secured and well-protected. Stressing that, when the community takes ownership everybody will also enjoy the benefits.

Other beneficiaries also spoke saying, the task ahead of them will be to move around the facilities and make sure that what is supposed to be done, is well achieved and then if anything is lacking or challenges are encountered reports will be given to them and then they in turn will tell the board and it will handled. Certifying that from tomorrow they will start visiting the health facilities in their local government areas.

Mr. Anderson proudly said, “My chairman has graciously inaugurated a flood committee who is already working so ours is just to take care of the health facilities within the IDP camps, I have been coordinating the health centers”
