Rivers LG Polls: Our Focus Is On Good Governance Says Gov Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara declared that the prime focus of his administration remains unfettered commitment to good governance and development of the state and called for the total support of all Rivers stakeholders to achieve set objectives.

The Governor who gave the declaration at the country home of Hon. Boniface Emerengwa in Iguruta in Ikwerre Local Government Area while receiving scores of defectors into the Peoples Democratic Party, on Sunday, welcomed them to the party and assured them of equal opportunities as old members, while urging them to be firm, supportive and patient with his administration which is premised on the foundation of justice and good governance.

Governor Fubara assured that Local Government Elections will hold in the state, as preparations were on and urged the people to work at the units and ward levels and ignore those kicking against the forth coming Local Government Elections as they have already capitulated to defeat.

The Governor called on his teeming supporters to dissociate from the politics of abuses, noting that abuses and acts of disrespect to authorities were signs of frustration and poor upbringing.

“It is very simple. We stand for good governance and that is our focus. I can assure you that there is no division in our family, come and join us. Support them from your wards and units. It doesn’t matter if you are joining us today, you will still have equal rights with those that have been with us. This is the best time to join us. We will give you all the opportunities.”

On his part, the Member representing Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Boniface Emerengwa thanked the Governor for welcoming the decampees into the family and assured their total support to the Governor.
