Rivers State government has moved to reconduct another Local Government (LG) elections.
This was disclosed by Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) today, as a major step in the democratic process with the unveiling of the 2025 Local Government Election timetable and guidelines.
A stakeholders’ meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the RSIEC Headquarters, 239-243 Aba Road, Port Harcourt.
The meeting, chaired by Hon. Justice Adolphus Enebeli (Rtd), RSIEC Chairman, will bring together political party leaders, traditional rulers, security agencies, media, civil society groups, NGOs, and community representatives to discuss the roadmap for the elections.
All stakeholders are expected to be seated by 2:00 PM prompt as RSIEC officially sets the wheels in motion for a transparent and credible election process.
