Rivers Govt Deepens Partnership with Int’l Breweries, Targets Youth Empowerment

The Rivers State Government has called on International Breweries PLC to extend its flagship youth development initiative, Empowering Nigeria’s Future Leaders, to Port Harcourt to enable young people in the state benefit from its training, mentorship, and entrepreneurship opportunities.

 

Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, made the appeal while receiving a delegation from the company in his office. He noted that hosting the next edition in Rivers State would align with Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s priorities of youth empowerment and economic inclusion.

Johnson reaffirmed the state government’s readiness to support investors and further urged International Breweries to consider reviving Grand Lager Beer, describing the former Pabod Breweries product as a heritage brand fondly remembered by Rivers people.

 

He also invited the company to participate in the upcoming Rivers State Christmas Discount Market, scheduled for December 5–15 at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium, Elekahia, aimed at making essential goods more affordable during the festive season.
