A member of the Peoples’s Democratic Party Nnamdi Okere has advised Rivers people not to be in a hurry to judge Governor Sim Fubara but give him the needed support to succeed. Nnamdi Okere in an interview with our reporter said the early signs and policies of the governor indicate that of a progressive administration. He said Governor Fubara needs time to implement his blueprint.
Mr. Okere further explained that, in governance, one month, sixty days, and hundred days are not enough to rate a governor or any administration; but they are cautiously optimistic that Sim Fubara the governor of Rivers State will go through the line of the past governor in terms of project execution. Stating that the governor is not a sit-tight governor who will sit in his office and want the story to be brought to him, rather, he goes for a thorough inspection and makes sure that every line is dotted.
The PDP member Nnamdi Okere said that he expects the best from Governor Fubara based on his antecedent and template set by his predecessor Nyesom Wike. He, however, asked the governor to be open to constructive criticism. He said there are people with divergent views even within the party and that it is healthy for democracy. Stating that when such views come to the governor, he should see them as advice to him and don’t see them as opposition.
Nnamdi Okere expressed hope that the Fubara’s administration will bring smiles to the faces of Rivers people. Stating that the governor is very humble and easy to work with, he however urges Rivers people to be patient, proffer advice to him, and ensure that he is not derailed
