Reactions have continued to trail the recent Supreme Court judgement on Rivers State crisis, bringing a new twist in the feud between the Rivers State Governor Sir.
Siminalayi Fubara and his allies on one hand and the FCT Minister Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and his loyalysts on the other hand.
The court judgement did not go down well with the majority of the people of Rivers State hence they frawn over the rulings by the Apex Court judgement of 28th February 2025; where in an interview with our Reporter they described the whole thing as intentionally manipulated and fraud in it’s totality.
This has led to some youths organisations and cult groups threatening fire and brimstone as concerns what they termed perversion of justice. Notable amongst them is Niger Delta militants who warns that unless Nyesom Woke allows Fubara to pilot the affairs of the state without interference otherwise there shall be no peace in Rivers.
Alhaji Asari Dokubo equally gave warning to FCT Minister and President Ahmed Tinubu over the rising tension in Rivers State.
But in a deviating opinion, a practicing lawyer who pleads anonymity, who has never wants his identity made public supports the Supreme Court rulings, being that the Supreme Court delivered judgement on what was before it, and cannot talk on the issue of defection or no defection which has not been filed before it. On that issue he only advised Governor Fubara to fast track the defection case which is still in the High Court, describing it as the determinant of all cases and mother of all victories which will usher in celebration of a resounding victory and peace at long last.
On the issue of the ultimatum given to the governor to represent the 2024 state budget by Amaewhule and 26 other lawmakers, he questioned , which of the budgets? He stressed that while the Apex Court talks of 2024, Woke lawmakers recovered from their sleep and start saying 2025. It is laughable.
The situation in Rivers State is becoming more tense as Martin Amaewhule and is group has said that the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission ( RSIEC ) to appear before it within 24 hours for questioning.
They equally resolved to communicate to Governor Fubara on the dangers or legal implications of parading some Commissioners who are not screened and cleared by the 10th Rivers State House of Assembly before appointments with their names published, and as at yesterday, they pronounced that the commissioners and other appointees by the Governor have been dismissed.
