Rivers Crisis: Ex Minister Insists On Vacant Assembly Seats

At the recent Supreme Court victory thanksgiving celebration in honour of Governor Siminalayi Fubara held in Ogu town, Ogu-Bolo LGA, former Minister of Transport, Dr. Abiye Precious Sekibo, took the stage to voice his criticism of certain members of the state assembly. These members had their seats declared vacant due to their defection from the PDP platform to APC, the party they were initially elected under. Dr. Sekibo particularly singled out those from the Ijaw extraction, accusing them of being manipulated by greedy politicians. He cautioned them about facing tough questions in the near future, urging them to retrace their steps in the interest of Rivers state.

Despite reported attempts by certain politicians to disrupt the event, the Director-General of the Simplified movement, RT. Hon. Evans Bipi, expressed gratitude to the people of Ogu Bolo LGA for their overwhelming turnout.

Hon. Awaji-Inombek Abiante also praised the unwavering efforts and support of Ogu-Bolo Local Government Area, highlighting the resilience of women who defended their votes. He reaffirmed solidarity with Governor Siminalayi Fubara, urging the people of Ogu-Bolo LGA to stand firm by his side.

Representing Governor Fubara, Hon. Barr. Boniface S. Emerengwa thanked the people of Ogu-Bolo LGA for their steadfast support. He assured them that the Governor prioritizes their interests and will ensure they reap the true benefits of democracy. Additionally, he announced plans for a land reclamation project aimed at benefiting the residents of Ogu-Bolo.
