RHI gifts 1000 Abia women petty traders 50 million naira

As part of her continued commitment to drive economic growth among women for a better family lives, the wife of the Nigeria President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu has launched a business recapitalisation grant for petty traders in the country through her Renewed Hope Initiative programme.

Presenting the 50 million naira cheque to 1000, women petty traders in Abia state government banquet hall today in Umuahia, Senator Oluremi Tinubu said that the programme is being launched simultaneously in the 36 states of the federation including the federal capital territory as it aims at gifting 37000, women petty traders grant to support their businesses.

Oluremi Tinubu, represented by the wife of the chief of staff to the President, Mrs. Salamatu Gbajabiamila said that the grants provided today is to assist women petty traders in overcoming some of their business challenges, expand their businesses, create more employment and contribute more robustly to the economy.

Earlier, the coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative programmes in Abia state, who also is the wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, said that the Renewed Hope Initiative remains steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of Nigerian families.

Mrs. Otti expressed that today’s event showcases our unwavering commitment to uplifting women, particularly those who are the backbone of our families, engaging in micro and small-scale enterprises.

According to her, ” We have gathered here today to empower 1,000 women petty traders by providing them with grants to support and expand their businesses.
This financial aid will help them not only to sustain their families but also contribute meaningfully to the economic growth of their communities” Mrs Otti said.

However, Mrs. Otti charged Abia women to seize the opportunity with determination and purpose adding that this is the moment to bring any economic aspiration to life, to open the doors to success, and unlock new avenues of opportunity.

While appreciating Senator Oluremi for her continued support to Nigeria women, she also commended Governor Alex Otti for his vision and policies that safeguard the interests of Abia women.
