The Member representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia state House of Assembly,Hon Chijioke Chukwu , has revealed those behind the incarceration of the Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Chief Orji Uzor Kalu, to be politicians from various ethnic groups in Nigeria, who do not want the voice of the Igbo man to be heard.
According to Chukwu, the Conspiracy was tailored to silent the active voice in the South East ahead of 2023, with OUK as their target.
The Lawmaker who disclosed this to our reporter, said the victory of OUK is not just the victory of the All Progressives Congress or Abia North Senatorial district alone but that of the South East.
He stated that the ruling has proven that the judiciary remains the last hope for the common man, restoring the confidence of an average Nigerian, on the fairness and supremacy of the constitution, bearing in mind that the wrongful conviction of an innocent man, will amount to a high level of injustice.
Chukwu reiterated that the incarceration was a targeted attempt to silent the active voice in the Eastern region, ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The Minority Leader alleged that almost all the ethnic groups in Nigeria supported the incarceration of OUK, since he was seen as a major voice in the South East, so that come 2023, the Igbo presidency bid would be forgotten.
Chukwu expressed happiness, their plot did not materialize, arguing that as a former governor of Abia, Chief Kalu shouldn’t have been put under such a dehumanizing condition, adding that there is nothing OUK has done, that other governors have not done.
He, however, called on ndigbo to throw their weight behind the former governor, so that come 2023, the voice of the region would be heard.
