Remain Faithful, Continue To Pray For Our Administration- Gov Otti Begs Muslims

The Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti
has called on Muslims in
the state to remain faithful and continue to pray for the present administration to enable it succeed.

The Governor stated this when the Abia state Muslim council led by the Chief Imam Alhaji Ali Ukaiwo paid him a Sallah visit/homage as part of the activities to mark this year’s Eidel -Kabir, described this year’s Eidel- Kabir as remarkable being the first since the inception of the present administration.

Governor Otti represented by the Secretary to the State Government , Professor Kenneth Kalu appreciated them for their support during last year election and urged them to remain law abiding and shun acts capable of disrupting the peace of the state.

The chief executive pointed out that the present administration in its bid to fulfilling its campaign promises declared state of emergencies on environment, health, education, among others,and commenced regular payment of monthly salaries to civil servants with payment of June salary effective from Wednesday 28th.

He pointed out that government has also put in place measures to sanitize motor parks, street, and markets to improve ease of doing business as well as establish more civil and effective revenue generation system and urged them to make the spirit of love their watchword.

Speaking earlier, the Chief Imam and leader of the group Alhaji Ali Ukaiwo said the visit was as a result of the Sallah celebration which according to him gave them the opportunity to thank God for the emergence of the new government ably led by Governor Alex Otti.

He maintained that the state Muslim council was part of government and pledged their continued support even as he pointed out that peace has been restored in Lokpanta following the effort of the present government.

The event featured special prayers for the state and nation by the group.
