Members of the inaugurated taskforce team on the re-accreditation of schools in Abia state have be charged to be professional and courteous in the discharge of their duties.
This call was made by the Commissioner for Education in Abia State Professor Uche Eme Uche, during the flag off of three days training of taskforce team on the best practice in reclaiming the lost glory of our schools.
Professor Uche said that the aim of the re-accreditation was to make sure that maximum standards are maintained in private and public schools in Abia State in line with the vision of governor Dr Alex Otti’s ,administration of reclaiming our school initiative.
The education boss revealed that the programme was not to witch-hunt anyone but to reclaim the best standard and stamp out quackery in our education system.
She said that before now the Ministry had discussed with the stakeholders in education industry to ensure a hitch-free assignment.
Uche also said that she had appealed to the school owners to open their gates for the Ministry’s re-accreditation team, while warning the taskforce team to be professional throughout the assignment.
One of the resource persons and the Director Science Technology, Higher Education and vocational education Mr Wogu Alozie, said gone are the days when one teacher will teach more than one subject.
