Black Stars of Ghana defeated South Korea 3-2 in their second group match to brighten their chances ahead of their last group match against Uruguay.
Ghana were bottom of the group prior to the match and needed to win to boost their chances of qualifying for the knockout stage.
Southampton defender, Mohammed Salisu opened scoring for the Africans in the 24th minute. Ten minutes later, Ajax Amsterdam’s Mohammed Kudus doubled Ghana’s lead.
After the break, two stunning headers in three minutes from Cho Gue-sung, top-scorer in his domestic league, levelled the game after 61 minutes.
Mohammed Kudus came to Ghana’s rescue with the third and winning goal.
Ghana’s destiny is in their hands now. A win over Uruguay will guarantee qualification for the Africans.
