Prof Gregory Ibe Supports Education In Abia North

 

 

The Chancellor,Gregory University,Prof Gregory Ibe, has supported education in Abia North Senatorial zone,with the last phase of the Prof Gregory Ibe Education Intervention Scheme launched in the zone.

The Education tour which started on the 26th of January,2022, across the three senatorial zones of the state, had schools in Abia South,Abia Central and Abia North, benefiting from the distribution of educational materials donated by the Prof Gregory Ibe Foundation, as part of encouragement for Abia children to take their education seriously.

Recall that the Prof Gregory Ibe Education Invention Scheme, which has its policy thrust anchoring on the distribution of exercise books, textbooks, university scholarships and free online entrepreneural training, distributed over 50,000 pieces of exercise books to schools in the different senatorial zones of the state.

Speaking at the Abia North flag off ceremony held at the Ohafia Central School in Ohafia Local Government Area,the Director General Abia Crusader’s Foundation, Prince Emeka Okafor, stated that the vision of Prof Gregory Ibe on education, is to ensure all Abia children are educated, hence the launch of the Prof Gregory Ibe Education Intervention Scheme.

According to Prince Emeka, the education scheme cuts across training, scholarships and distribution of learning aids, adding that the Gregory Ibe Foundation,a humanitarian medium,was established to reach out to the poor and helpless in Nigeria and that he has been doing since 1994, with over 300 Abians being awarded scholarships up to university level,in various courses in the Gregory University, Uturu.

The DG Abia Crusader’s Foundation,further stated that Prof Ibe understood very well the concept of education and would commit his resources to ensure people go to school.

He, however, urged the students to be determined and take their education seriously and not to use the financial inabilities of their parents as excuse, adding that the parents of Prof Ibe could not afford to take him to school, but Ibe was determined despite the challenges, he took up menial jobs just to pay his school fees.

Prince Okafor further advised the students to always pray for Prof Gregory Ibe and his ambition of becoming the next Abia governor, noting that Prof Ibe would help in putting Abia on the pedestrian of development by bringing his wealth of knowledge and contact with the UN and ECOWAS Countries to bare.
