Abia Governorship hopeful and Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Prof Gregory Ibe, has commiserated with former Senate President Sen. Adolph Wabara on the demise of his wife, Felicia Wabara after a protracted illness at the age of 69.
Speaking while on a condolence visit to Sen. Wabara at his Ohambele Ndoki country home, Prof Ibe, who described the death of Mrs Wabara as ‘shocking and destabilizing’, however encouraged the former Senate President to bear the irreparable loss with stoic equanimity, taking solace and consolation in the indelible legacies of her earthly sojourn.
According to Prof Ibe,’’Coming on a Palm Sunday morning, this news is definitely shocking and destabilizing but let me encourage you sir to be bold and courageous, while bearing the irreparable loss of your dear wife with stoic equanimity. Do let her indelible legacies continue to serve as source of consolation. For strength, I enjoin you and the members of your family to look unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, even as we all join in commemorating today his triumphant entry into Jerusalem”.
Responding, Sen Wabara thanked God for the life of his late wife, acknowledging that both life and death are the exclusive preserve of God, who alone gives and takes life by his sovereignty. He appreciated Prof Ibe for coming on a short notice to share in their grief and commiserate with the entire people of Ukwa clan, praying God to reward him.
The late Felicia Wabara who died in the early hours of Sunday 10 April turned 69 in March and had been married to the ex Senate President for the past 40 years.
