Prof Agbazuere, Shaka Obasi Endorse World Tourism Day Celebration In Abia

The PDP candidate for Isiala N nogwa North and South Federal Constituency for the forthcoming election, Chief Anthony C.B. Agbazuere has said that Nigera will be great, “If we have five percent of Nigerians who show signs of patriotism to development of the government”.

Agbazuere who said this when he received in audience the General Manager, Abia State Tourism Board, Queen Onyekachi Atulomah and the Chairman, 2022 World Tourism Day Celebration in the State, Mr Dimgba Ejieke, maintained that it is good for one to show patriotism.

He appreciated the enthusiasm and passion Atulomah have for her job, adding that “If we have a lot of Nigerians who show the level of passion, Nigeria will be better”.

His words, “The love of promoting your own is the key. Since you took over the Position as the General Manager of the Tourism Board, you have always been on the news. We need to encourage you for people to see what we have in Abia State”.

Chief Agbazuere who also said that the development of the Tourism sector is dear to the state, promised to support the Tourism Day celebration in the state and also guide Committee to get it right.

Earlier in her speech, the General Manager, Abia State Tourism Board, Queen Onyekachi Atuloma said the essence of their visit was to intimate Prof. Agbazuere as a great lover of nature, the forthcoming World Tourism Day Celebration in the state slated to hold on the 25th to 27th of September, 2022 in Umuahia as well as solicited for his support towards making the event a memorable one as it tends to reorientate the mindset of Abians about tourism and project Abia tourism to the global market positively.

In a related development, the General Manager Abia State Tourism Board, Queen Atuloma Onyekachi Jackie has described Panyu Hotel and Resorts Aba as a world class Hotel and a pride to the hospitality Business in Abia State.

Atulomah made the statement when members of the Tourism Board 2022 World Tourism Day Steering Committee visited the management of the Hotel to officially notify them of the upcoming events and invite them to partner with the Board in making the event geared towards promoting the Tourism potentials of the state a success.

Atuloma thanked the management of the Hotel for their patriotism in siting such a magnificent edifice and Hotel with world-class standard in the state that Tourist and other National events before now were not holding in the state because of the unavailability of Hotels of such standard.

She said Panyu Hotel and Resorts has help to create jobs for Abians, provide a serene environment for relaxation and an venue to organise national and state events.

In addition, the General Manager also told the management of the Hotel the need to partner with the state in developing some Tourist locations in the state as an Investor in the hospitality and Tourism Business.

Speaking also, the Chairman of the 2022 World Tourism Day Steering Committee, Hon. Dimgba Ejieke who used the opportunity to brief the Management of Panyu Hotel of the features of this year’s event with the theme; Community Centric Tourism that the goal is to Retell the success stories and promote the Tourism potentials of the state in order to attract Investors.

In his response, the Chairman, Panyu Hotel and Resorts, Chief Shaka Dimgba Obasi said the hotel is a home away from home and that as a Businessman he has toured round the world and wishes to redefine and provide world-class service in the Hospitality Industry in the state.

He said siting the Hotel in Abia was borne out of patriotism that he had the options of going to other bigger cities in the nation.

He used the opportunity to thank Abians for their patronage and the Government for providing an enabling environment for the business to succeed.

Chief Obasi thank the General Manager Abia State Tourism Board for bringing life in the Board and promised to participate in this year’s World Tourism Day celebration.
