The Batch C stream 11 Corps members posted to Cross River State, have been told to use the period of their service to make personal sacrifices and prepare themselves for the enormous challenges of nation building by embarking on laudable community projects that will stand them out at the end of the service.
The Governor of the State, Senator Bassey Otu, who was represented by Justice Emmanuel Ubua during the official swearing – in ceremony of the Corps members for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course at the NYSC permanent orientation camp Obubra, gave the advice and promised to make the atmosphere conducive for the Corps members.
Governor Otu assured the Corps members of a good welfare, which he said will be given top priority as his administration is people – driven. The Governor reminded them the importance of NYSC in contemporary Nigeria and lauded the scheme for remaining a tool for national unity and integration.
The coordinator NYSC Cross River State, Mr. Zemoh Andrew in his welcome address, reminded the Corps members that the 3 weeks orientation course is structured to prepare them for the compulsory one year national service, which will expose them to various activities, such as Leadership Training, Drills, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development, Lectures among others to prepare them for the future.
The Chief Justice of the State Her Lordship, Justice Akon Ikpeme, who was also represented by Justice Emmanuel Ubua of the high court of Obubra , administered the Oath of Allegiance on the Corps members which formed the highpoint of the event.
