Prayers Play A Significant Role In The Developmental Achievements Recorded Under My Watch——Gov Ikpeazu

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has attributed the significant developmental achievements recorded under his watch as Governor of the state to God Almighty and the efficacy of prayers.

Ikpeazu said this on Sunday during the closing ceremony of a month-long prayer programme, also known as “Zam Jehovah Nights” with the theme “Impact”, at the Assemblies of God Church, Tenant Road, Aba.

The governor said that through divine providence he had attained great heights, adding that his life was a testimony that success comes from God.

“I have come to present myself as a testimony that any door that God opens, no one can close it.

“God has used my story to encourage people, that He is the only one that can lift a man.

“My trajectory and journey as governor has been challenging but to the glory of God every prayer I have made for the development of Abia has been answered by God and I know he will answer the remaining ones,” he said.

Ikpeazu said that his favourite bible text Ecclesiastics 7:8, which says “the end of a matter is better than its beginning and patience is better than pride”, was a pointer that God wants His children to learn about the virtue of patience.

He said that he had learned to patiently follow God’s plans and urged christians to prayerfully as well as patiently wait on God’s timing.

Ikpeazu expressed gratitude to the members of the church for their prayers and unalloyed support to the state government, adding that the he would continue to work for the good of the people until his last day in office.

“At a time as this when the polity is heating up because of the transition into a new administration, Abia has remained peaceful and united,” Ejindu said.

He commended the state government for its achievement in the area of infrastructural development and socioeconomic advancement in every part of the state.
