The Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji has commended the Church for upholding the State Government in prayers, leading to the various achievements recorded.
Orji who gave the commendation during the Men’s Day celebration of the Dominion City Church, Aba Region at the Dominion City Church, Azuka street off Aba- Owerri Road, Aba urged religious leaders not to relent in their prayers and constructive criticisms for those in government, but to also encourage the citizenry to support the government and contribute their quota towards the development of the state for the good of all.
The Speaker while congratulating the men on the celebration of their day, encouraged them to sustain their sacrifices in the house of God and expressed his love and commitment for impacting the society positively through human capital development and youth empowerment.
In his sermon, the Resident Pastor of the church, Pastor Kelechi Nnanna described men and fathers as rare gift to society and carriers of blessings which if properly groomed, all other challenges of society would have been solved and harped on the need for all to always pray for and encourage them to fulfill their God given mandates.
In his speech, the Men’s President of the Church, Dr Obinna Nwaogwugwu who said the theme of the celebration is “The making of the king and the Priest”, noted that the day is set aside to celebrate the men of the church as well as raise funds for the building of their leadership centre to groom transformational leaders.
Highpoint on the service featured the Speaker displaying his human empowerment tendencies by setting up two persons and special prayers were made by the Pastor Norbert for all the House of Assembly members.
Those accompained the Speaker for the event were member representing Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency, Chief Ginger Onwusibe, his counterpart of Osisioma Ngwa South, Chief Nnamdi Allen-Nwachukwu, Aba North, Hon. Aaron Uzodike, immediate past Deputy Speaker, Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe and the T.C Chairman for Osisioma Ngwa, Mr Victor Nwaogu among others.
