Police arrests suspected 5 man armed robbery syndicate

A suspected 5, man armed robbery gang has been busted by the men of the Nigerian Police Force along Okigwe town in Imo State.

The robbers were robbing a gas station in Okigwe, Imo state, when men of the Nigerian Police Force swooped on them as 3, of the robbers were caught on the spot while 2, are still at large.

Those caught were Mr. Sunday Eze 32, from Eziagu, Obiagu in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra state, Mr. Chinedu Ugboaja 34, from Arondizuogu in Okigwe Local government area of Imo State and Chukwujekwu Nwokoma 38, from Amanachi in Ogu Local government area in Imo State while those on the run are Mr. Kato Ogoh 31, from Obingwa, Abia State and Mr. Ojei Ifon 34, from Umuika, in Abia state respectively.
The police also revealed that Mr Chukwujekwu has been on its wanted list for car snatching and other criminal activities connected to him since 2010.

Further probe by the police also revealed that Mr. Chukwujekwu was a gang member of another wanted car snatching syndicate, Mr. Onyejeaka Johnson Nnaetoo who escaped from police custody and has been on the run since 2014. 

Chukwujekwu also confessed that Mr Johnson who is from Orumba South Local Government Area in Anambra state has been the mastermind of all the cars they have been snatching since 2007 before the long arm of the law caught up with them together with one Barrister Promise Okafor, as the buyer of all the cars they snatched. 

Meanwhile, Chukwujekwu has been cooperating with the police to gather information on the lookout for Mr. Johnson who escaped and has been on the run with gun shots wound sustained during protest with members of MASSOB.

However, getting to the community and house of Mr. Johnson, police realised from his girlfriend and his 10 years old son that the youths from the community have raised down their building because of Mr. Onyejeaka Johnson Nnaetoo’s involvement as an arm carrying member of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra, agitating for their own sovereign state from Nigeria.

Also, the community chairman of Umunze in Orumba LGA, Anambra State ,has appealed to the general public and individuals who knows his way about to contact the police or the community vigilante group. 

Etoo Johnson as he is popularly known before his disappearance was a driver with CN Okoli Transport Company and a Coordinator of Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra ( MASSOB) Onitsha branch.

Meanwhile, efforts to contact the Imo State police public relations officer, PPRO Andrew Enwerem prove abortive, for he neither answer nor returned his calls.
