Philanthropist Lauds Ikpeazu’s Intiative On Security, Others

 

Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has been applauded for instituting a more peaceful and secured state that is second to none across the country.

 

A Stakeholders and Ohuhu born philantropist, Chief Onyinyechi Raymond Ofoegbu who gave the commendation while interacting with newsmen in Umuahia said that the peaceful and secured atmosphere in all parts of the state led to a memorable Christmas and new year celebrations.

 

Describing Abia as the most peaceful and secured State across Nigeria,Ofoegbu further commended Governor Ikpeazu for ensuring a robust security by deploying security agents to beef up security in and around the state.

 

He noted that the feat if sustained is capable of wooing more investors to the state with its attendant boost to the state’s Internally Generated Revenue.

“Abia is a peaceful State and has been relatively peaceful compared to other states in Nigeria where we have lots of criminal activities”,he said.

 

He attributed the level of peace enjoyed in the state as a result of the Abia state government’s effort in engaging it’s youths in meaningful ventures and called on Government at all levels to emulate Abia by engaging the Youths so as to reduce crime rate in the country.

 

“We need youths to be actively involved in meaningful ventures that would distract them from criminal activities.

“If Government would continue to keep the Youths busy especially in areas of employment and sporting activities it would go a long way in improving the security situation in the country”.

 

On the forthcoming 2023 General elections,Ofoegbu advised Abians not to sell their conscience but look out for selfless leaders with sacrificial mindset who would have the interest of the masses at heart pointing out that “the major problem of today’s leaders is greed”.

 

He regretted that the people are no longer politically motivated because of bad leadership in the country which he said has demoralized the people and urged Abians to ensure they get their Permanent Voter Cards to vote for candidates who are committed to improving the well-being of the masses come 2023.
