Pensioners Laud PTAD Exemplary Service, Calls For Sustenance

Pensioners under the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) have lauded the directorate for performing wonderfully and exemplary well in its services to pensioners.

The pensioners made this known at this year’s Customer Service Week of PTAD held in PTAD Zonal Office in Enugu recently.

They were of the view that PTAD had made life easy as they engage in processes and collection of their pension, unlike years back when issues of pension leads to sudden death, sickness and stress for senior citizens.

Mr Izuchukwu Obichukwu, a pensioner, noted that PTAD had made it possible for pensioners to get their pension as and when due as well as provided desk offices and staff that courteously attended to pensioners.

Obichukwu, who is also Secretary of Legion of Disengaged Workers and Pensioners of Nigeria Coal Corporation, urged the Federal Government to continue in the present way they are according service and respect to pensioners.

“PTAD has ensured we receive our pensions just as current workers receive their salaries monthly as well as paid up all arrears of pension owed to workers before they came on board.

Another pensioner, Pa Elias Obetta, appreciated PTAD for ensuring his pension gets to him directly in his bank, adding: “It is seamless now, as I get my pension alert even before the end of the month”.

Obetta commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration for giving respect, care and consideration to senior citizens who are pensioners.

Mr Simon Obasi, thanked PTAD administration for attending to pension’s enquiries with courtesy and ensuring verifications were done with human face.

“The issue of pensioners’ fainting and falling on verification queues is over as well as pensioners left in harsh weather conditions is old story as well,” Obasi, who is Pension Desk Officer of Nigerian Coal Corporation, Enugu, said.

Earlier, Executive Secretary of PTAD, Dr Chioma Ejikeme, said PTAD was working assiduously to ensure that pensioner monthly pensions and other retirement benefits due to them are paid as and when due, is committed to their overall welfare.

According to her, having established a SERVICOM desk in PTAD and launched the Service Charter, these are testaments to the value we place on customer satisfaction and holding ourselves accountable to ensure quality service delivery.

“The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Celebrate Service’, and it aptly captures what we do here in PTAD, which is to celebrate the tireless workers who put in their best daily to ensure that our esteemed pensioners are satisfied.

“Celebrating Customer Service Week draws our attention to the importance of customer service and the people who provide it, the need to boost morale and teamwork, reward employees for the significant work they do and raise awareness of the value of customer service.
