PDP Will Reclaim Its Position In Nigeria, Gov Ikpeazu Assures As Party Receives Nat. Secretary

 

 

It was a gathering of who is who in the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP)Imo state as the National Secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu was Wednesday, recieved in a grand civic reception organized in his honor at the Kanu Nwankwo Square, Owerri by the state chapter of the party.


Present at the ceremony which witnessed the reception of a former Imo state PDP Chairman Chief Charles Ezekwem and over 1000 members of the APC back to PDP fold include, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor Udom Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom state, Chief Nyesom Wike of Rivers State,Seyi Makinde of Oyo State,former Governors of Imo state,Chief Achike Udenwa and Chief Emeka Ihedioha.


Others are; Former Senate President, Sen. Anyim Pius, Sen. Adolphus Wabara, BOT Chairman of the PDP,Sen Wali Jubrin,Members of the National and State Working Committees, National and state Assembly members among other top members of the party from across the country.

In his speech on behalf of other Governors, Governor Ikpeazu who is also the Deputy Chairman of PDP Governor’s Forum expressed optimism that the party would reclaim it’s position in Nigeria come 2023.


Ikpeazu stressed the need for party members at all levels to unite and form a formidable force to end the years of misrule of the present APC adminstration in Nigeria.

 

He urged members of the Party in Imo state to ensure that the forthcoming bye election for Ngor -Okpuala state constituency billed to hold on Saturday, serves as a yardstick for the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections.

 

Governor Ikpeazu advised the people to protect their votes assured that their Electoral victory would no longer be ambushed.

He lauded Senator Samuel Anyanwu for being a good Ambassador of Imo state and the South East at large and noted that he will not fail in his assignment as the National Secretary of the party.

In a keynote address, the National Chairman of the PDP Senator Iyorchia Ayu noted that Senator Anyanwu and other prominent Sons and Daughters of the South East have been playing strategic roles in the struggle for PDP to take over power at the center and urged Nigerians to keep faith with the party.


The PDP National Chairman assured that the incoming PDP government will end the protracted agitation arising from years of marginalization of the South East,unite the country and enthrone better leadership.

“We will rebuild this country to the benefit of all Nigerians. We are going to work day and night to throw out this leprous APC government”, he said.


Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion and also Chairman, PDP Imo State Elders Council ,Sir Ambrose Ejiogu described the occasion as a home coming for members of the party and congratulated Senator Samuel Anyanwu for being a committed PDP faithful,who he said has performed creditably in various responsibilities given to him.

In a vote of thanks,the National Secretary of the PDP, Sen Samuel Anyanwu thanked the party for the show of love and confidence reposed in him and assured that he would not let them down.
