The People’s Democratic Party (PDP),in Abia, has described their party as a best brand when it comes to party politics.
The chairman of the party in Abia, Rt Hon Asiforo Okere, who dropped this in an interview with newsmen in his office, said the PDP has proven to be the best party in Nigeria.
Speaking with reference to the present economic challenges confronting the nation under the All Progressive’s Congress (APC ), Rt Hon Okere said Nigerians now know the difference between the PDP led administration and the APC,as well as the party that is better, stating that what happened in Edo election, showed greatly that the people are in a hurry to enthrone true democracy, which only PDP can give.
Rt. Hon Okere maintained that subsequently in Nigeria politics, what happened in Edo election would be playing out,as Nigerians have now seen the party that best address their needs.
Looking at the strength of the Party in Abia, Rt. Hon Okere said his party remains the party to beat in any election in Abia, stating that the presence of other parties put together, can not stand the structure the PDP has laid down in the past.
Reacting to the recent defection of the two-time gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance( APGA),Dr Alex Otti to APC, the former speaker of the Abia House of Assembly, said whether Dr Otti joins APC or not,he has not increased in strength, he still remains the same Otti that contested against PDP twice and lost.
He added that nothing has changed in Otti, maintaining that the only thing that has changed in Otti is that, he is nolonger in APGA.
“Worst thing is that, majority of his APGA faithful did not go with him.His case is even worst now that he is in APC.Otti is like a fatherless person now”, the PDP boss revealed.
Rt. Hon Okere, however, lauded the past leadership of the PDP, who he said laid a strong foundation for the party in Abia and ensured the party remained a fine brand, formidable and vibrant in the state, adding that with what is on ground, the PDP can boast of victories come 2020 Local Government Area election and subsequent elections in 2023.
