Pastor Adeniyi Urges Christians to Embrace Power of Christ’s Resurrection

Christians around the world on Sunday celebrated Easter, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, a moment regarded as the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

During the Easter Sunday service, the Resident Pastor of Winners Chapel, Rumuepirikom, Pastor Dapo Adeniyi, declared “He Is Risen,” describing the day as the happiest moment in the life of every Christian.

In his sermon titled “Understanding the Power of His Resurrection,” Pastor Adeniyi explained that the resurrection of Jesus Christ brought peace, fulfillment, healing, and fruitfulness to believers.

He described Christ in two dimensions — the Crucified Jesus and the Glorified Christ — emphasizing that Jesus is the only one who rose from the dead after three days, an event that changed His position and elevated believers to a higher spiritual standing.

Reading from Luke 24:7, the cleric defined resurrection as the quickening of the body of the dead. He noted that the devil has blinded the eyes of some Christians from fully understanding the truth and significance of Christ’s resurrection and glory.

Pastor Adeniyi further explained that after His resurrection, Christ performed what he described as the first miracle — an eye-opening encounter recorded in Luke 24:30–31 — where the eyes of His disciples were opened.

Quoting also from 2 Corinthians 3:14–15 and 2 Corinthians 3:18, the pastor urged Christians to deepen their understanding of the power and significance of the resurrection.

He called on believers to dedicate their lives to serving God and to accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary as a demonstration of God’s love for humanity.

Pastor Adeniyi concluded by reminding the congregation that Christ has been given all power in heaven and on earth, encouraging Christians to live in the victory made possible through His resurrection.
