Panel of Inquiry Inaugurated to Investigate Suspension of ACETA Provost

 

A six-member panel of inquiry has been inaugurated by the Abia State Government to investigate the suspension of the Provost of the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu (ACETA). The panel is chaired by Professor Regina Ogbonna, with Mr. Emenike Okoro serving as the secretary.

 

Other members of the panel include Engr. Christopher Okoro, Dr. Uchechi Uche, Mrs. Chinyere Okezie, and Mr. Sunny Ajala.

While inaugurating the committee at his office in Umuahia, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Kenneth Kalu, urged the panel to approach the assignment with diligence and integrity. He charged them to submit their findings and recommendations within three weeks.

 

Professor Kalu outlined the panel’s terms of reference, which include investigating the circumstances that led to the suspension of the ACETA Provost and making appropriate recommendations to the government.

He reiterated the state government’s commitment to good governance and transparency, emphasizing that progress in the state depends on a collective commitment to integrity and accountability.

 

In her remarks on behalf of the committee, Professor Regina Ogbonna expressed gratitude to the government for the opportunity to serve and pledged the panel’s commitment to delivering a thorough and timely report.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key government officials, including the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Professor Uche Eme Uche; Permanent Secretary in the Office of the SSG, Dr. Godwin Okezue; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Mr. Emeka Enyiazu.
