Ozuruigbo Group Endorses Orji Kalu for 10th Senate Presidency

In a recent development, the Igbo social-cultural group, Ozuruigbo worldwide, has officially declared its unwavering support for Senator Orji Kalu as the top contender for the position of President of the 10th Senate. This announcement comes just days before the scheduled inauguration and election of principal officers on Tuesday.

During a crucial stakeholders meeting held in Isu Local Government Area, Imo State, Ozuruigbo worldwide emphasized their strong stance against Senator Osita Izunaso, stating that it would be a political abomination for him to compete with Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for the esteemed position.

The group highlighted Senator Kalu’s notable credentials, citing his status as the only former governor since 1999 from the Southeast region returning to the Senate, where he currently holds the role of Chief Whip in the outgoing 9th Senate.

Speaking on behalf of Ozuruigbo worldwide, Dr. Batos Nwadike expressed their unanimous decision, stating, “Without question or hesitation, H.E Senator Orji Kalu is the final and most exquisite choice for the position of Senate President. It is a political abomination in the Southeast for Osita Izunaso to compare himself to someone of Senator Kalu’s stature.”

Dr. Nwadike further stressed the group’s evaluation of integrity, character, loyalty, capacity, capability, fear of God, patriotism, and nationalism, asserting that Senator Izunaso had failed on all these fronts.

Ozuruigbo worldwide fervently urged the Senators-elect to exhibit courage and patriotism, advocating for a deserving and admirable leadership that steers clear of treachery, blackmail, wickedness, greed, disloyalty, avarice, and any form of ignobleness. They emphasized the need for a Senate leadership that would make the nation and its people proud.

Notable attendees at the meeting included delegates from the 19 northern states and Abuja, as well as delegates from the Southwest, South-south, and Diaspora, particularly the West African coastline countries.
